We are looking for an experienced and patient-focused Occupational or Physical Therapist with a focus in Hand Therapy to join our growing rehabilitation team.

This opportunity is ideal for a clinician who enjoys working with upper-extremity patients and wants to build a rewarding career in specialized rehabilitation. The therapist will work closely with patients to restore strength, movement, coordination, and functional independence following injuries, surgeries, and other conditions affecting the hand and upper extremity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and identify functional limitations affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity.
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation programs based on each patient's condition, goals, and lifestyle.
  • Deliver hands-on treatment, therapeutic exercises, stretching, and other appropriate rehabilitation techniques.
  • Help patients regain strength, range of motion, coordination, and functional use of the affected extremity.
  • Educate patients on home programs, proper exercise techniques, injury prevention, and strategies for continued recovery.
  • Track clinical progress and adjust treatment approaches when necessary.
  • Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient progress and treatment recommendations.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining strong clinical standards.

Qualifications

  • Current Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain licensure in Florida.
  • Strong interest or experience in hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable work ethic and commitment to delivering quality patient care.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.

CHT Candidates

The ideal candidate will hold an active Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential. However, candidates at different stages of their hand therapy careers may also be considered, including:

  • Therapists who meet the experience requirements for the CHT examination and are preparing for certification.
  • Clinicians with Level II fieldwork experience in hand therapy along with additional continuing education and outpatient hand therapy experience.
  • New graduate OTs with relevant Level II hand therapy experience who have a strong interest in upper-extremity rehabilitation and are committed to pursuing advanced hand therapy education and certification.
